"Hot / Can Read"
Hot / Can Read is a series of ten photographs that centers women in the simple but powerful act of reading. The project challenges the idea that a woman’s appearance says anything about her intelligence, pushing back against the assumption that beauty and intellect cannot exist together. Each image shows women with different styles and in different settings, highlighting that focus, curiosity, and thought are present no matter how someone looks or dresses. Overall, Hot / Can Read affirms that women can be both attractive and smart at the same time.
